The top 10 foods to avoid....at all costs!

Here it is folks, the list we all love.....to hate, that is! Some are less obvious than others. Depending on how many of these items you currently partake, you may have an easy road ahead of you, or you may in fact need to purge these nasty "treats" over the months to come. You might want to share this post with a friend. They will thank you one day.

OK, let's see how you fare:

1. Butter:
Dangers- High in fat and sodium, energy drainer.
Healthy alternative:: Olive Oil. If you really want to be grossed out by the though of tearing into another stick of butter, check this out Danger Burleyfield as he drinks a whole stick of melted butter:

2. Pastries:
Dangers- High in sugar and processed flour.
Healthy alternative: Fruits.

3. Candy bars:
Dangers- High in trans fat sugar which translates to empty calories.
Healthy alternative: Sweet fruits.

4. Cheese:
Dangers- High in processed fat.
Healthy alternative: All natural cheese in low quantities.

5. Soda:
Dangers: High in sugar and artificial ingredients which translates to empty calories.

6. Potato Chips:
Dangers: Empty high fat calories.
Healthy alternative: Crunchy multi-grain crackers or carrots.

7. TV Dinners and frozen meals:
Dangers: High in sodium, artificial and other hidden ingredients.
Healthy alternative: Quick dinners made by you with ingredients you purchase.

8. Canned or packaged meats:
Dangers: Sodium.
Healthy alternative: Fresh deli cuts.

9. Red meat:
Dangers: High fat and cholesterol.
Healthy alternative: Skinless chicken breast or any type of grilled fish, including shellfish or even some tasty black beans. Check out the dirty little secret about red meat:


10. White Bread:
Dangers: Striped of all its nutrients bearing no health benefits.
Healthy alternative: Whole wheat bread.
